BRIAN BOLIN: FAST AND FURIOUS AT THE HUMMER

FAST AND FURIOUS: HUMBOLDT SPEEDWAY BACK ON FRIDAY'S, AND SO IS BRIAN BOLIN!

by Scott Lee Stewart

April Fools day marked the return of Friday Night racing to Humboldt Speedway, and the performance of Brian Bolin was no laughing matter.

In the Allen Co. Chiropractic "A" Main Modifieds Friday, Bolin proved to be lightning fast. Starting from the outside pole, Bolin outdueled some of the toughest competition The Hummer has to offer, leading the majority of the 20 lap feature enroute to victory. Paden Phillips, who moved into Modifieds from B-Mod last year, is apparently over any growing pains he may have suffered and turned in a strong runner up finish. Ryan Whitworth wrestled the third spot away from Jess Folk, Jr. late in the race, with Cody Alger rounding out the top five.

Tim VanGotten looks to be the dominant force in the E-Z Lock and Key B-Mods here in the early part of the season. Stong last week, VanGotten was all but untouchable in this week's feature, although Dalton Kirk, who finished second after weaving through traffic, is running strong as well. Jay Lamons, Jr. nailed down the third spot, as Jimmie Davis and Ronnie Wayne Bolin completed the "Fab Five".

The Whiworth Construction Pure Stock Feature race was won by Jeremy Willard, back in form after a difficult start to the '11 season. Runner up Levi Phillips, former go-kart champ and newcomer to the "big" cars, rans strong as well, and along with Brandon Rowland, Dennis Aielo, and David Matlock sat atop the 21 car field at feature's end.

Jeremy Wilson has been fast "out of the box" this season, and dominated Friday's Factory Stock Feature. In a photo finish, Tim Phillips edged Derrek Wilson by the narrowest of margins for runner up. Fourth went to Paul Snyder, with Dale Price in fifth.
